Things to know about nomadic resource utilisation (continued)

All these processes can profoundly affect nomadic resource utilisation systems, which may open up new opportunities, but can also create new restrictions. Labour migration, for example, may create new sources of income, but simultaneously reduces the labour force available to a nomadic household and thus the herd size that can be handled. The question is: to what extent are nomadic communities able to cope with this cocktail of multiple change processes and to maintain livelihood security by adopting appropriate strategies?
